Rebecca Black Responds to Lady Gaga’s ‘Genius’ Compliment: (It’s So Surreal)

Rebecca Black’s “Friday” is at 46,974,057 and climbing. She has interviewed on Good Morning America, performed on The Tonight Show With Jay Leno and at only 13, she is stretching her
philanthropic arm, donating most of her YouTube and iTunes proceeds from her hit single to earthquake and tsunami disasters in Japan. With celebrities like Lady Gaga, Simon Cowell and Nicole Richie at her side, seems like the sky’s the limit. So how does she feel?

Excited. Crazy. Surreal. Every adjective you would use to describe a a 13-year-old singer who was launched to super stardom thanks to a viral music video.

Entertainment Weekly interviewed the internet sensation from Orange County yesterday who only made the video for fun with her friends with some help from a production company. And she still remains unsigned.

In response to Lady Gaga’s compliment, “I say Rebecca Black is a genius and anyone telling her she’s cheesy is full of it,” Rebecca gushed to, “That’s so cool! I feel so star-struck, even though I haven’t met her. It’s so surreal, it’s so crazy. I was just listening to ‘Born this Way.’ I really love all of her songs, I have almost every song of hers on my iPod and I think she’s really a lyrical genius. Her songs are just so upbeat and fun and catchy.”

With the success of her video on YouTube, how is Rebecca handling the incoming cash flow with Ark Music, the company that wrote and produced the smash hit?

“I own the song. I have full rights to the song, so they really don’t get anything. I’m pretty sure it’s a 100 to 0 situation. The only thing we paid for was to buy full rights.

But Rebecca is putting her income to good use, donating most of the proceeds to the devastation in Japan.

“I felt really bad about [the disaster in Japan]. I’ve always wanted to do something about all natural disasters, and I realized now is my big opportunity where I can really help.”

Lindsay Lohan’s Changing Her Name to Just (Lindsay)

When you hear the name Lindsay, is there one person that comes to mind? Well, Lindsay Lohan thinks it’s her, so she’s decided to officially drop the “Lohan” from her name.

“Lindsay is dropping the Lohan and just going by Lindsay,” Lindsay’s mother Dina Lohan told PopEater. “Plus, me and [younger daughter] Ali will be officially changing our last names back to my maiden name, Sullivan.”

According to PopEater, Lindsay decided that after the “milkaholic Lindsay” comment from the Super Bowl E-trade ad was made she was well-enough known by just “Lindsay.”

“So many of the greatest people in showbiz are known by just their first name. Look at Oprah and Beyonce. Now you can add Lindsay to that list,” a family friend explained to PopEater. “And it’s a way for them all to start over. No one in the family want anything to do with Lindsay’s father [Michael Lohan] anymore and that includes sharing a last name.”

Rebecca Black : I Would Love to Be Like Justin Bieber or Selena Gomez in Five Years

Rebecca Black is not giving up the dream of doing a duet with Justin Bieber, and she also plans to follow The Biebs’ track to success. The 13-year-old singer will not be a one hit wonder and reveals
that she hopes her career reaches the same level of superstardom as JB and his girlfriend Selena Gomez.

When Entertainment Weekly asked the young singer which celebrity she wants to be like in five years, can you guess what she responded?

“I would love to be like Justin Bieber or Selena Gomez. They were catapulted into stardom when they were so young — like I was — and they still haven’t gone down the wrong path and I hope neither or them will. I find that really inspiring.”

We hope Rebecca gets her wish!

As for her other favorite singers, Rebecca shared, “Well, Justin Bieber, Katy Perry, Rihanna — those are my favorites, definitely.”

“Justin Bieber I find an inspiration overall: I love his music, he’s adorable and I love that he’s so young and so big,” she added.

Rebecca Black Respects Rihanna for (How She Came Out of The Chris Brown Thing)

Justin Bieber isn’t the only artist Rebecca Black looks up to! The 13-year-old Internet singing sensation also loves Rihanna, and not only for her powerhouse singing chops.

Rebecca respects Rihanna for how she handled herself after the 2009 assault involving her then-boyfriend Chris Brown.
“Rihanna, how she came out of the Chris Brown thing so strong, that is amazing to me,”Rebecca told Entertainment Weekly when asked what artists she looks up to.

Both artists have worked hard to but the past behind them, Chris struggling the most with trying to move on. The 22-year-old singer had a meltdown Tuesday after an interview with Robin Roberts on Good Morning America where  he was asked about legal issues stemming from the 2009 assault case.

He has issued his apologies and is trying to focus on promoting his latest album F.A.M.E.

While on his promotional tour, Chris was asked about Rebecca’s viral hit, and at first he mocked the ditty, but then ended up endorsing it.

“Honest opinion? It was great. I’ll be jammin’ to it on Friday, Friday,” he sang on Washington’s Hot 99.5 radio station during an interview last week.

So what does the future of Rebecca’s career have in store?

“That’s not a question you should ask me,”  she told EW. “My parents just throw song ideas at me, and I’ve been listening to a billion different songs.”

And her goal is to get people moving with future hits.

“Dance anthem-like stuff, very teen-like pop songs, stuff like that,” Rebecca said of future songs she is planning.

Snoop Dogg Accused of Glorifying Underage Drinking

Snoop Dogg is being accused of promoting underage drinking, by "alcohol industry watchdog" the Marin Institute, for his endorsement of Blast by Colt 45.

The group is accusing Snoop of using his popularity to encourage minors to drink the beverage, produced by the Pabst Brewing Company. In an attempt to halt the production of beverages like Blast, which contain both alcohol and soda, Marin reached out to California State Senator Alex Padilla to ban the drink and others like it.

"While the federal government was shutting down dangerous caffeinated alcohol, Pabst Brewing Company was cooking up 'Blast,' a super sweet, fruit-flavored, supersized alcopop containing as much alcohol as four and a half cans of beer," said Marin CEO Bruce Lee Livingston. "Joose, Four Loko, Tilt and now Blast are racing to the bottom to harm youth. Senator Padilla's bill should limit such products to one standard-size drink."

Livingston argues that Snoop's affiliation with the brand is directly related to the injuries reported by numerous college students between of the ages of 17 and 19. The institute reported that more than 2 million youth illegally drink alcohol in the state of California, costing the state $7.3 billion a year.

Last year, the federal government banned seven alcoholic beverages containing caffeine, including Four Loko and Joose, but Marin hopes to get more off of the market. Blast, a fruit flavored drink, contains 12 percent alcohol in a 23 ounce can and features labels resembling bubble gum wrappers, which some argue directly targets young people. The drink is scheduled to hit shelves next month.

Elizabeth Taylor's and the Secret About James Dean Revealed

As the world mourns the loss of an American icon, newly released details from a 1997 interview with Elizabeth Taylor reveals a shocking secret about legendary film star James Dean that she
allegedly kept for most of her life.

According to The Daily Beast, writer Kevin Sessums interviewed Taylor for a cover story for POZ, an American magazine dedicated to AIDS activism. It was then the actress reportedly let him in on a secret about Dean, a close friend of hers.

"I loved Jimmy. I'm going to tell you something, but it's off the record until I die. OK? When Jimmy was 11 and his mother passed away, he began to be molested by his minister," she revealed to Sessums, who was sworn to secrecy.

"I think that haunted him the rest of his life. In fact, I know it did," she said of her friend. "We talked about it a lot. During 'Giant' we'd stay up nights and talk and talk, and that was one of the things he confessed to me."

Taylor and Dean starred together in 1956's 'Giant,' a film in which Dean earned his second posthumous Best Actor Academy Award nomination. The actor was killed in a car accident in 1955 at the age of 24.

Taylor died Wednesday of congestive heart failure at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, where she had been hospitalized for the past six weeks.

George Lopez Apologizes to Kirstie Alley on Twitter

George Lopez made some nasty comparisons between Kirstie Alley and an animal earlier this week, but now it's Lopez who's got his tail between his legs.

Following Alley's debut on 'Dancing With the Stars,' Lopez compared the actress's routine to a pig with "little hooves tapping away." Lopez followed up his insensitive comment by joking, "Before the show, she went to the market and then she had roast beef," and playing a video of a pig in a car, alleging that it was Alley.

While Alley seemed unfazed by Lopez's nasty remarks, her fans rallied in support of the actress and her dancing skills and slammed Lopez for his malicious behavior.

It seems that Lopez took the message to heart. Yesterday, the comedian apologized to the actress via Twitter, writing, "I misjudged the joke. No malice was intended and I apologize to Kirstie."

Despite his contrition, it doesn't seem that Alley is willing to let Lopez's bad behavior slide.

The actress took to Twitter yesterday to impart some wisdom to her offended fans, writing, "Don't worry about George's comments...just remember what happens to the big bad, drunk woolf (sic)...falls in a boiling pot of vodka.Piggy laughs."

But the former 'Cheers' star wasn't finished. The actress followed up her initial tweet by responding to Lopez directly, making fun of the comedian for accepting a kidney from his wife and later divorcing her. Alley wrote:

Snoop Dogg Establishes Memorial Fund for Nate Dogg's family

Snoop Dogg has established a memorial trust fund for the family of late hip-hop star Nate Dogg.
According to Snoop's website, the trust "has been set up for expenses of services and the financial
security of Nate's children. 100% of all donations will be given to Nate Dogg's family."

Nate Dogg (born Nathaniel Hale) passed away earlier this month at just 41 from complications resulting from multiple strokes. The late singer was plagued with health issues for several years, and it has been reported he suffered strokes in both 2007 and 2008.

Snoop Dogg, who first collaborated with Nate Dogg in the early '90s, took to Twitter to express his heartbreak over his friend's death. "I am so sad but so happy I got to grow up wit u and I will c u again n heaven cuz u know d slogan all doggs go to heaven yo homie n baby brotha bigg snoopdogg!!" he wrote.

(Barefoot Contessa) Ina Garten has refused to meet a 6-year-old boy suffering from cancer

Ina Garten is cooking up some seriously bad karma along with her culinary creations.
Garten, known to many by her TV moniker 'Barefoot Contessa,' has refused to meet a 6-year-old
boy suffering from cancer, despite his multiple pleas.

The boy, Enzo, is suffering from acute lymphoblastic leukemia and reached out to Garten through the Make-A-Wish Foundation for the first time three years ago, asking for the celebrity chef to take time to cook with him.

His request fell upon deaf ears, however. Garten's rep told TMZ, "As much as [Garten] would like to, it's absolutely impossible for her to grant every request she receives."

The little boy, who specifically requested to meet Garten because he had watched her show while sick in bed, made a second request through Make-A-Wish, which was met with a "definite no."

Enzo, who asked his parents, "Why doesn't she want to meet me?" has chosen another wish, which the foundation has been able to grant -- the brave little boy is currently taking lessons to prepare for his new dream: to swim with dolphins.

Make-A-Wish issued a statement regarding Garten's refusal of Enzo's request, writing, "From time to time, planning for wishes doesn't turn out as originally envisioned, despite people's best intentions and efforts throughout the wish-granting process."

Elizabeth Taylor's 'Beautiful' Letter to Kennedy Center Floors Barry Manilow

Elizabeth Taylor loved and honored her friends and tried her best to get them the recognition she felt they deserved. Illustrating this bond is a new, never-before-seen letter the Dame sent to the
board of trustees at the Kennedy Center on behalf of her great friend Barry Manilow.

On beautiful lilac stationary, with her name embossed at the top in purple, Taylor eloquently wrote that Barry was deserving of the Kennedy Center Honors because he created "the soundtrack of our lives" and is a genius who "cranks out hits at a dizzying pace." She also lavished him with praise for courageously standing with her to fight for AIDS/HIV funding back when the "stigma of AIDS was great."

Barry had no idea his friend had lobbied on his behalf until the letter was released following her death on Wednesday. "I had no idea about this letter. It's just unbelievable," he tells me. "This is so beautiful."

Read the full letter below:

    Dear Gentlepersons,

I have the good fortune to count among my friends an extraordinary man, a man whose talents have touched so many hearts and whose heart has touched so many lives. That man is Barry Manilow.

One of the greatest names in popular music, this prolific singer-songwriter-performer has created the soundtrack for our lives. Ever since he first took the stage in the 1970, he has proved himself to be an unstoppable showman, a true musical genius who cranks out hits at a dizzying pace. His songs are as well known as Beatles tunes, and its impossible not to sing along. I'm truly a fan.

And then there's his work as a humanitarian: Barry is tireless in pursuit of his charitable endeavors, which include raising funds and awareness for The Prince's Trust, United Way, The Starlight Foundation, The Foundation Fighting Blindness, and for many HIV-AIDS organizations, for which he holds a special place in my heart. I will always remember back to the early days of my fundraising work, when the stigma of AIDS was so great. I was seeking talent to perform at our first benefit event, and was receiving nothing but rejections--until Barry alone had the courage to come forward and say "yes".

Barry has established The Manilow Fund For Health And Hope, which supports education, health and care efforts locally, and the Manilow Music Project, which supports musical equipment to local schools whose art programs have been eliminated. It is Barry's feverent belief that music changes lives: I know he's changed mine with his enormous talent.

I can think of no one more deserving of a Kennedy Center Honor than Barry Manilow, and hope you will accept this letter of nomination and support. Thank you in advance for your kind consideration.

    Sincerely,

(Signed in her own hand in ink matching the color of her raised letterhead) Elizabeth Taylor.

Dame Liz was honored by the Center in 2002 and since then was given the elite opportunity to nominate individuals. So far, Barry has not been tapped for the award. Last year's recipients included Merle Haggard, Jerry Herman, Bill T. Jones, Paul McCartney and Oprah Winfrey.

Elizabeth Taylor Mini Biography,Elizabeth Mini Biography

Elizabeth Taylor was the Queen of Hollywood, with a career spanning six decades. She was as famous for her colourful personal life, which included 8 marriages and 7 husbands, as she was for her acting career.

Although Elizabeth was born in England, her parents were American art dealers. Her mother had been an actress on the stage until she married, and the family relocated to Los Angeles when she was seven.

A family friend suggested Elizabeth be taken for a screen test, and she signed a contract with Universal Studios. Her first foray onto the silver screen was in the short, ‘There’s One Born Every Minute’, when she was ten.

Elizabeth was then signed by MGM to make ‘Lassie Come Home’. Her next two films were minuscule parts, but then came the film that made Elizabeth a star, ‘National Velvet’, in 1944. The film was a smash hit grossing over $4 million.

Throughout the 1940s and into the early 1950s, Elizabeth appeared in film after film, with mostly good results. 1954 proved her busiest year to date, with roles in ‘Rhapsody’, ‘Beau Brummell’, ‘The Last Time I Saw Paris’ and ‘Elephant Walk’.

1957 saw Elizabeth star in ‘Raintree County’, for which she was nominated for an Academy Award. In 1958, she starred in ‘Cat On a Hot Tin Roof’. The film received rave reviews from the critics and Elizabeth was nominated again for another Academy Award. She finally won an Oscar in 1960 for ‘Butterfield 8’.

In 1963, she starred in ‘Cleopatra’, which was the most expensive production up to that time, and her enormous salary of $1,000,000 made her the highest paid woman in Hollywood and the first ever million dollar actress.

After her second Oscar win for ‘Who’s Afraid of Virginia Woolf’, her films never again reached the same heights. However, she maintained her place in the limelight by the sheer quantity of her work, appearing in ‘The Taming of the Shrew’, ‘Reflections in a Golden Eye’, ‘The Only Game in Town’ and ‘Hammersmith is Out’ between 1967 and 1972.

In 1974, Taylor starred in ‘Victory at Entebbe’, a made-for-television movie based on an actual event, which involved Israeli hostages being freed from Entebbe Airport in Uganda. Over the next decade, she went on to have roles in productions including ‘A Little Night Music’, ‘The Mirror Crack’d’, ‘All My Children’, ‘Malice in Wonderland’ and the miniseries ‘North and South’.

With her appearances largely restricted to television and voice roles, Taylor continued entertaining fans in the late 80s through to the 90s with roles in ‘Young Toscanini’, ‘Sweet Bird of Youth’, ‘The Simpsons’ and ‘The Flintstones’. Her most recent work includes 2001’s ‘These Old Broads’ and 2003’s ‘God, the Devil and Bob’, an animated sitcom.

Taylor’s personal life has been as colourful as her acting career, having gone through seven husbands and eight marriages over the years. Her most famous union was with seven-time Academy Award nominee Richard Burton, whom she married and divorced twice.

In February 1997, she was hospitalised for the removal of a brain tumour and, although the operation was successful, her health remained an ongoing concern. Taylor has had a wide range of other medical issues over the years and in February 2011, at the age of 78, she was admitted into Cedars-Sinai Medical Center for treatment related to congestive heart failure, which she disclosed in 2004.

She passed away on 23 March at the age of 79 from congestive heart failure. A statement announcing Taylor’s death said that “she was surrounded by her children - Michael Wilding, Christopher Wilding, Liza Todd and Maria Burton” and left behind ten grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Paying tribute to his mother, son Michael said in a statement: “We will always be inspired by her enduring contribution to our world. My Mother was an extraordinary woman who lived life to the fullest, with great passion, humour, and love.".
